Refund policy
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
The item must be in the original condition to be eligible for a return; it must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. We may also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
To start a return or refund, you can contact us at swordart@katanaswordart.com.au. We’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Please return the package as soon as possible once the return is approved, or we reserve the right to reject the return. A restocking fee or transaction fee may apply.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective or damaged or if you received the wrong item so we can evaluate the issue and make it right. We may ask for photos or other documentary evidence as proof, so we can best diagnose the problem and work on a solution for you.
Please note that the blade of a katana needs to be kept dry and regularly maintained to remain in good condition. Carbon steel blades, in particular, have a higher carbon content, which gives the blade better hardness and sharpness, but also makes it more susceptible to rust from moisture and oxygen. Therefore, carbon steel blades require maintenance, including keeping them dry, and applying rust prevention oil regularly. If you receive the item with rust on the blade upon arrival, please notify us promptly for assistance. We will handle the situation accordingly. However, we regret that we cannot accept returns or refunds for rust issues caused by improper environment and maintenance. You are welcome to contact us for advice on rust removal.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have and make a separate purchase for the new item.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return; we will refund you through the original payment method once approved. Initial shipping costs are non-refundable, and we are not responsible for the return shipping fee. Please note it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
Return Exception
The return and refund policy should not be applied to Antique Nihonto orders, Custom orders (e.g., engraving) and Gift cards orders.
