Description
KSA “Hua” Series Katana – Vajra Eclipse | Folded Steel Clay Tempered Blade | Sanbonsugi Hamon | Sashikomi Polish | Black Ishime Saya | Genuine Rayskin | Authentic Kissaki Structure
Vajra Eclipse is a katana from the Huo Series, defined by contrast, discipline, and quiet authority. Forged from folded steel and shaped in traditional Maru-zukuri construction, the blade reveals subtle hada patterns beneath its surface—an expression of layered structure and controlled forging. The overall geometry remains clean and purposeful, offering a balanced and responsive feel suited for both practice and display.
The blade is clay tempered, presenting a dynamic Sanbonsugi hamon—a repeating tri-peaked pattern that reflects rhythm, precision, and strength. The sashikomi-style polish preserves the natural relationship between jihada and hamon, allowing the layered steel grain to emerge softly while maintaining a refined, understated appearance.
The koshirae centers on a black Musashi-style iron tsuba, its bold and minimal form representing duality and balance. The fuchi and kashira, crafted from white copper, feature raised vajra (thunderbolt) reliefs, symbolizing indestructibility and spiritual force. A brass habaki secures the blade firmly, adding a subtle warmth against the darker mountings.
The tsuka is wrapped in black ito over genuine white samegawa, creating a sharp visual contrast while providing a firm, reliable grip. The saya is finished in a black Ishime lacquer, its stone-textured surface emphasizing restraint, durability, and depth rather than shine. A matching black sageo completes the mounting, reinforcing a cohesive and disciplined aesthetic.
Vajra Eclipse is not a blade of excess or ornament. It is defined by structure, rhythm, and inner strength—an embodiment of controlled power, crafted for practitioners and collectors who value clarity, symbolism, and enduring presence.
