Description

Authentic Nihontō Japanese Sword Katana Signed by Yukinaga 行長 NBTHK HOZON TOKEN Certificate

The sword, signed by Yukinaga and appraised as "Kuni Fumei Yukinaga," has a gentle shape with a small kissaki and a notable difference in width between the base and the tip, making one forget it is a weapon. The steel surface (地鉄, jitetsu) features a slightly prominent ko-itame with a straight grain (柾流れ, masame), and the hamon is a subdued suguha (straight temper line) with kinsuji (golden lines). Commonly referred to as "Ama-kire," this sword is known for its flexible construction, making it resistant to breaking. The boshi (tip of the blade) is straight and ends in a rounded shape on both sides. The yakidashi (starting point of the temper line) gives the impression of a suriage (shortened) blade.

This sword was purchased in its original condition and polished at our shop, and it comes with a Hozon Token certificate from the NBTHK. Enjoy the fresh, polished appearance of this sword, perfect for artistic appreciation without any need for further work. The taste of the tang (nakago) is outstanding. The balance is exceptionally good, with the weight centered towards the hand, making it feel even lighter when held.

Bare weight: 549 grams.
