Description
Collectable Katana Azure Lion | Hand-Forged High Carbon Clay-Tempered Blade with Chōji Hamon | Polished Edge | Red Gloss Lacquer Saya | Genuine Rayskin
This Azure Lion katana is hand-forged in Maru-zukuri style from high-carbon steel, featuring a distinctive chōji hamon achieved through traditional clay tempering. The blade is shaped in balanced shinogi-zukuri geometry with an elegant iori-mune spine and a medium-sized chū-kissaki tip.
The mounting includes a round steel tsuba depicting a Chinese-style lion descending a mountain, finished in deep black patina. The fuchi and kashira carry matching lion carvings, harmonizing strength and artistry. The tsuka is wrapped in blue cotton ito over genuine rayskin with hishigami underlay, forming a precise diamond pattern for grip and comfort. The saya features a shimmering red lacquer that reflects light beautifully, while the koiguchi, kojiri, and kurigata are reinforced with water buffalo horn for durability. A tightly woven blue cotton sageo completes the mounting, giving the katana an elegant and cohesive appearance.
Swords holder or stand sold separately.
