Description
Collectable Katana Golden Dragon | Sanmai Steel Clay Tempered Blade | Polished Edge | Chinkin Lacquer Saya | Genuine Rayskin
This Golden Dragon katana is forged in sanmai construction, with a hardened steel core between softer outer layers for a perfect balance of sharpness and durability. The blade displays a straight grain pattern and a flowing notare-komidare hamon, created through traditional clay tempering. Forged in the shinogi-zukuri style with a ridged spine and extended tip, it embodies both strength and elegance.
The mountings feature a round copper tsuba finished in deep black patina, intricately decorated with a cloud-and-dragon motif highlighted with gold and silver details, symbolizing power and divine protection. The fuchi and kashira are blackened copper with matching motifs, while dragon-shaped menuki rest beneath the wrap, adding hidden refinement. The handle is bound in brown cotton over aged white ray skin with hishigami inserts, creating a traditional diamond pattern for secure grip.
The hardwood scabbard is finished in chinkin lacquer with a black base and gold powder, giving it a striking, luxurious appearance. Reinforced with buffalo horn at the mouth, end, and knob, the scabbard also features a kaeritsuno hook and slots for kozuka and kogai, reflecting traditional craftsmanship. A red cotton cord tied to the kurigata completes the design with a vivid contrast.
