Description
Collectable Katana Indigo Wave | Sanmai Steel Clay Tempered Blade | Chōji Hamon | Polished Edge | Blue Starlight Gloss Lacquer Saya | Hourglass-shaped Tsuka
This Indigo Wave (蒼浪) katana is forged in Sanmai construction, with a hardened steel core encased by softer outer layers, achieving the ideal balance of sharpness and resilience. The blade reveals a masame-hada straight grain pattern and a striking chōji hamon, brought out through traditional clay tempering. Forged in the classic shinogi-zukuri style with a ridged spine and extended kissaki, it embodies both cutting performance and elegant form.
The mountings are unified by a maritime theme: the mokko-gata white copper tsuba is engraved with flowing wave motifs, echoed across the fuchi-kashira, koiguchi, kojiri, and kurigata, creating harmony throughout the koshirae. The tsuka is wrapped in deep navy cotton ito over genuine rayskin, with hishigami inserts forming a precise diamond pattern that enhances both aesthetics and grip security.
The hardwood saya is finished in a shimmering blue starlight gloss lacquer, its surface sparkling subtly under the light. A black sageo interwoven with fine multicolored threads is tied to the kurigata, complementing the lacquered scabbard and completing this cohesive and striking design.
