Description
Collectable Katana Shadow Dragon | Sanmai Steel Clay Tempered Blade | Polished Edge | Kin Mushikui Lacquer Saya | Genuine Rayskin
This Shadow Dragon katana is forged in sanmai construction, featuring a hardened steel core encased by softer outer layers for an ideal balance of sharpness and durability. The blade displays a straight grain pattern and a flowing notare-komidare hamon, created through traditional clay tempering. Forged in the shinogi-zukuri style with a ridged spine and extended tip, it exudes both elegance and strength.
The mountings feature a round copper tsuba with a black patina, intricately carved with a cloud-and-dragon motif accented in gold and silver. The fuchi and kashira share the same blackened copper and motif, while dragon-shaped menuki lie subtly beneath the handle wrap. The handle is wrapped in brown cotton over aged white ray skin with hishigami inserts, forming a traditional diamond pattern for both grip and beauty.
The hardwood scabbard is finished with kin-mushikui lacquer, giving it a luxurious, textured golden appearance. It includes kozuka and kōgai fittings, and is reinforced with buffalo horn at the mouth, end, and kurigata. A red cotton cord is tied to the kurigata, completing the design with a bold accent.
Swords holder or stand sold separately.
