Description
Collectable Katana Verdant Lion | Hand-Forged Folded High Carbon Clay Tempered Blade | Polished Edge | Red Lacquer Saya | Genuine Rayskin
This Verdant Lion katana is hand-forged in Maru-zukuri style from folded high-carbon steel, featuring a refined masame grain on the surface. The blade displays a graceful notare hamon, achieved through traditional clay tempering, with balanced shinogi-zukuri geometry, an elegant iori-mune spine, and a medium-sized chū-kissaki tip.
The mounting includes a square steel tsuba decorated with a Chinese-style lion and peony motif, finished in a deep black patina. The matching fuchi and kashira carry complementary peony carvings, blending strength with elegance. The tsuka is wrapped in green cotton ito over genuine rayskin with hishigami underlay, forming a precise diamond pattern for comfort and grip. The saya features a red lacquer with black speckles, creating a striking rain-dot texture, while the koiguchi, kojiri, and kurigata are reinforced with water buffalo horn for durability. A tightly woven green cotton sageo completes the mounting, combining refinement with functionality.
Swords holder or stand sold separately.
