A Japanese sword is a single-edged curved blade, designed specifically for cutting (slashing) and is not suitable for chopping hard objects. Our sharpened swords are only suitable for cutting practice on tatami mats (straw mat material). Handle the blade with care and maintain a sense of respect for it. Striking at an incorrect angle, hitting excessively hard targets, or applying too much force may cause the blade to bend, chip, or break. The user assumes all risks and should purchase with caution, ensuring proper use in a safe environment to prevent damage or accidents. By placing a Katana or Sword order, the customers confirm that they are over 18 years old and know all local, state, and federal laws regarding the possession or carrying of the products they are ordering. Customers are responsible for compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and laws. To the maximum extent permitted by the applicable law, KatanaSwordArt shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, fines, or risks, where incurred directly or indirectly, resulting from the purchase, use, storage, delivery of the goods or seller’s omission to advise.

When you place an order on our website, it is considered a binding contract between you and us. In accordance with Australian legislation, you must be at least 18 years old to enter into a legally enforceable contract. We may require you to scan or photograph your valid photo ID and email it to us to confirm that you are over 18 years of age before we can proceed with shipping your order. This information will be used solely for the purpose of completing this transaction. If you are concerned about sharing sensitive information, you may cover any unrelated details before sending.

Customers in Victoria (Australia) should have a “prohibited weapons permit” or an exemption (membership from a Collectors’ Organisation) to purchase a sword. Please scan or photograph your membership card or certificate along with a valid photo ID and email them to us so that we can proceed with sending your order. 

Please note: Age verification is not required for wooden sword orders. Requirements related to ID and permits apply only to customers with a shipping address in Australia. Customers in other countries (such as the United States) are not required to meet these requirements.
