KSA “Huo” Series Katana – Bokuden | Hand-Forged T10 High Carbon Blade | Clay Tempered with Real Wave Hamon | Full Tang | Hand-Fitted Fittings | Genuine Rayskin | Authentic Kissaki Geometry | Black Ishime Saya | Tight-Fitted Tsuka Core | Cutting Practice Ready
Bokuden is a katana from the Huo Series, defined by disciplined simplicity, spiritual elegance, and quiet strength. Forged from T10 high carbon steel in traditional Maru-zukuri construction, the blade combines exceptional cutting performance with a clean and harmonious form. Its balanced proportions and refined geometry embody the timeless principles of Japanese sword craftsmanship, where functionality and beauty exist in perfect accord.
The blade is clay tempered, displaying a genuine Notare Wave Hamon that flows gently along the cutting edge like rolling waves beneath a tranquil sky. The soft undulations of the temper line create a sense of movement and serenity, revealing the beauty and vitality that can only be achieved through traditional differential hardening techniques.
The koshirae is centered around a Brass Maru-gata Tsuba with a Layered Lotus Petal Motif. The radiating lotus design symbolizes purity, spiritual awakening, and inner composure, lending the sword an atmosphere of contemplative elegance. The Sakura Fuchi and Kashira, crafted from white copper, introduce delicately sculpted cherry blossom motifs that provide a subtle seasonal contrast to the solemnity of the lotus design. A brass habaki secures the blade firmly, its warm golden tone harmonizing naturally with the surrounding fittings.
The tsuka features brown cotton ito wrapped over genuine samegawa, creating a warm and organic contrast that enhances both comfort and visual depth. The saya is finished in a Black Ishime lacquer, its stone-textured surface conveying understated refinement and a grounded sense of strength. A blue sageo completes the mounting, introducing a restrained accent of color that evokes clear evening skies and calm waters while reinforcing the harmonious character of the overall design.
Bokuden is not merely a display piece—it is an expression of discipline, tranquility, and spiritual refinement. With its genuine Notare hamon, symbolic lotus tsuba, and harmonious interplay of dark and natural tones, it embodies both inner serenity and enduring resilience, crafted for practitioners and collectors who appreciate traditional artistry, meaningful symbolism, and an elegant yet commanding presence.
