Description
KSA “Huo” Series Katana – CraneBlossom | Hand-Forged T10 High Carbon Clay Tempered Blade | Choji Hamon | Sashikomi Polish | Red Ishime Saya | Genuine Rayskin | Authentic Kissaki Structure
CraneBlossom is a katana from the Huo Series, defined by elegance, continuity, and restrained motion. Forged from T10 high-carbon steel in Maru-zukuri construction, the blade emphasizes structural clarity, controlled balance, and reliable handling, making it suitable for both martial arts practice and refined display.
The blade is clay tempered, forming a distinct choji hamon. This hamon style reflects careful heat control and traditional aesthetics, introducing rhythmic variation while maintaining structural integrity. The polished surface remains clean and understated, allowing the hamon to emerge naturally without excess contrast.
The koshirae is fitted with a blackened iron tsuba featuring openwork crane motifs, symbolizing grace, longevity, and quiet poise. White copper fuchi and kashira, carved in flowing wave relief, echo the movement of water and complement the blade’s organic hamon pattern. A brass habaki secures the blade firmly while providing a warm tonal contrast within the mount.
The tsuka is wrapped in black ito over genuine white samegawa, offering a stable, confident grip with a restrained visual character. The saya is finished in a refined red Ishime lacquer, its subtle stone-textured surface balancing depth and restraint rather than gloss. A matching black sageo completes the mount with visual cohesion.
CraneBlossom is not defined by force or ornament alone, but by harmony between form and movement. Calm yet expressive, it is a katana shaped by balance, continuity, and quiet refinement—well suited for practitioners and collectors who value elegance grounded in tradition.
