Description
KSA “Huo” Series Katana – CraneFlow | Hand-Forged T10 High Carbon Clay Tempered Blade | Polished Edge | Brown Ishime Saya | Genuine Rayskin | Authentic Kissaki Structure
CraneFlow is a katana from the Huo Series, defined by calm motion, balance, and continuity. Forged from T10 high-carbon steel in Maru-zukuri construction, the blade emphasizes structural consistency and controlled handling, offering a composed character suited for both martial arts practice and refined display.
The blade is clay tempered, producing a smooth and flowing notare hamon that reflects disciplined heat control and careful edge formation. The polished surface remains clean and understated, allowing the natural movement of the hamon to emerge without distraction. In use, the blade tracks steadily and responds with clarity, favoring balance and control over excess aggression.
The koshirae is mounted with a blackened iron tsuba featuring an openwork crane motif, symbolizing longevity, stillness, and measured strength. This is complemented by white copper fuchi-kashira decorated with raised wave reliefs, reinforcing the theme of calm flow and continuity. A brass habaki secures the blade firmly while providing a warm metallic contrast to the darker tones of the mount.
The tsuka is wrapped in black ito over genuine white samegawa, delivering a firm, dependable grip with a restrained visual presence. The saya is finished in a subdued brown Ishime lacquer, its stone-textured surface evoking earth and quiet depth rather than gloss or ornamentation. A matching black sageo completes the mounting with visual cohesion.
CraneFlow is not defined by spectacle, but by restraint and rhythm. It embodies a mature design philosophy where stillness and motion coexist—an ideal choice for practitioners and collectors who value balance, longevity, and enduring form.
