Description

KSA “Huo” Series Katana – DarkVine | Hand-Forged T10 High Carbon Clay Tempered Blade | Polished Edge | Black Red-Speckled Saya | Genuine Rayskin | Authentic Kissaki Structure

DarkVine is a katana from the Huo Series, defined by restraint, continuity, and subtle ornamentation. Forged from T10 high-carbon steel in Maru-zukuri construction, the blade emphasizes structural consistency, clean geometry, and balanced handling, making it suitable for both martial arts practice and refined display.

The blade is clay tempered, forming a smooth and flowing notare hamon that reflects controlled heat treatment and disciplined edge development. The surface is polished in a restrained manner, free of visible hada, allowing the natural movement of the hamon to remain the focal point. In use, the blade tracks cleanly and responds with stability, favoring control and precision over excess aggression.

The koshirae is fitted with a blackened iron tsuba featuring openwork sakura motifs, expressing quiet growth and cyclical renewal. The cupronickel fuchi and kashira, carved with traditional karakusa (arabesque) patterns, add refined detail without disrupting the overall harmony. A brass habaki secures the blade firmly while providing a warm metallic accent.

The tsuka is wrapped in brown ito over genuine white samegawa, offering a secure and confident grip. The saya is finished in a deep black lacquer with subtle red speckling, evoking the image of dark vines traced with hidden life beneath the surface. A matching brown sageo completes the mount, reinforcing balance and cohesion throughout the design.

DarkVine does not seek attention through excess or contrast. Instead, it expresses depth through continuity, form through restraint, and presence through quiet detail—an ideal choice for practitioners and collectors who value subtlety, structure, and enduring character.
