Description
Performance Katana Dragon Ascent with Maru Blade, Bo-Hi, Black Lacquer Saya and Genuine Rayskin
The Dragon Ascent is a performance-oriented katana forged from resilient spring steel in a traditional Maru construction, delivering exceptional toughness, flexibility, and dependable cutting performance. Designed for martial arts practice and tameshigiri (test cutting), it captures the timeless spirit of the ascending dragon while combining modern functionality with traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
The blade features a full-length bo-hi, reducing overall weight while enhancing balance and producing a crisp tachikaze (audible feedback) with every swing. The brass maru-gata tsuba showcases a powerful dragon rising through swirling clouds, an enduring symbol of strength, wisdom, and ascension in Japanese culture. Matching brass fuchi-kashira continue the cloud and dragon motif, creating a unified koshirae that conveys both authority and elegance.
The tsuka is wrapped in tightly fitted black ito over genuine white rayskin, providing a secure grip and a striking black-and-white contrast. A deep black gloss lacquer saya, complemented by a matching black sageo, completes the mounting with understated sophistication while maintaining the practical durability expected of a performance katana.
An ideal choice for practitioners and collectors seeking a spring steel katana that combines reliable cutting performance with the commanding presence of the legendary ascending dragon.
