Description
KSA “Huo” Series Katana – DragonSutra | Hand-Forged T10 High Carbon Clay Tempered Blade | Choji Hamon | Sashikomi Polish | Black Red-Speckled Saya | Genuine Rayskin | Authentic Kissaki Structure
DragonSutra is a katana from the Huo Series, defined by restraint, continuity, and symbolic depth. Forged from T10 high-carbon steel in Maru-zukuri construction, the blade emphasizes structural stability, controlled balance, and clean geometry, making it suitable for both disciplined martial practice and refined appreciation.
The blade is clay tempered, forming a flowing choji hamon that rises and falls rhythmically along the edge. This classical pattern reflects precise heat control and careful edge development, while the polished surface remains free of visible hada, allowing the hamon’s organic movement to stand as the blade’s visual focus. In handling, the blade offers steady tracking and composed feedback, favoring control and continuity over aggression.
The koshirae is fitted with a blackened iron tsuba featuring Nine Syllable openwork, evoking protection, discipline, and ritual order. The cupronickel fuchi-kashira, carved in a dragon-and-wave relief, reinforces the theme of restrained power moving beneath the surface. A brass habaki secures the blade with traditional reliability, introducing a subtle warmth against the darker mount.
The tsuka is wrapped in brown ito over genuine white samegawa, providing a firm and balanced grip with a calm, grounded character. The saya is finished in a black lacquer with subtle red speckling, offering depth without gloss-heavy excess. A matching brown sageo completes the mount, maintaining tonal cohesion throughout the composition.
DragonSutra is not defined by spectacle, but by rhythm, symbolism, and restraint. It is a katana shaped by continuity rather than force—well suited for practitioners and collectors who value inner structure, measured power, and enduring form.
