Description
Performance Katana Dusky Swallow with Maru Blade, Black Lacquer Saya and Genuine Rayskin
The Dusky Swallow is a performance-grade katana crafted in Maru construction from modern steel, offering exceptional durability and responsive handling. Designed for tameshigiri (test cutting) and traditional martial arts practice, it embodies a perfect balance between elegant minimalism and robust functionality.
The blade features a smooth polish with a single bo-hi, enhancing balance and producing a crisp tachikaze (audible feedback) with each swing. The iron tsuba is adorned with an openwork design depicting graceful swallows in flight, symbolizing agility and precision. A matching iron kashira complements the fittings, creating structural harmony and refined aesthetics.
The saya is finished in a lustrous black lacquer, paired with black sageo and ito tightly wrapped over genuine rayskin, ensuring a secure grip and timeless styling rooted in tradition.
An ideal choice for practitioners and collectors seeking a katana that merges modern craftsmanship with classical Japanese artistry.
