Description

KSA “Huo” Series Katana – MantraVine | Hand-Forged T10 High Carbon Clay Tempered Blade | Choji Hamon | Sashikomi Polish | Black Ishime Saya | Genuine Rayskin | Authentic Kissaki Structure

MantraVine is a katana from the Huo Series, defined by rhythm, continuity, and disciplined restraint. Forged from T10 high-carbon steel in Maru-zukuri construction, the blade emphasizes structural stability, clean geometry, and controlled balance, making it suitable for both martial arts practice and refined display.

The blade is clay tempered, revealing a lively choji hamon. This rhythmic pattern reflects careful heat control and deliberate edge formation, balancing visual complexity with functional integrity. The polished surface remains calm and uncluttered, allowing the movement of the hamon to remain the focal point.

The koshirae is fitted with a blackened iron tsuba featuring Nine Syllable openwork, an esoteric motif associated with protection, focus, and ritual discipline. The shakudo-toned white copper fuchi-kashira, engraved with flowing karakusa (arabesque) patterns, echo continuity and growth, reinforcing the blade’s underlying theme of repetition and flow. A brass habaki secures the blade with traditional reliability while adding a subtle warmth to the otherwise restrained palette.

The tsuka is wrapped in black ito over genuine black samegawa, offering a firm, confident grip with a subdued visual presence. The saya is finished in black Ishime lacquer, its stone-textured surface absorbing light softly and emphasizing material depth rather than gloss. A matching black sageo completes the mount with cohesive balance.

MantraVine is not defined by ornamentation alone, but by repetition, discipline, and continuity. Calm yet deliberate, it embodies a restrained design philosophy where form, rhythm, and tradition move as one—well suited for practitioners and collectors who value inner structure over outward display.
