KSA “Huo” Series Katana – Mitsunari | Hand-Forged T10 High Carbon Blade | Clay Tempered with Real Wave Hamon | Full Tang | Hand-Fitted Fittings | Genuine Rayskin | Authentic Kissaki Geometry | Black Red-Speckled Saya | Tight-Fitted Tsuka Core | Cutting Practice Ready

Mitsunari is a katana from the Huo Series, defined by bold contrast, martial symbolism, and commanding presence. Forged from T10 high carbon steel in traditional Maru-zukuri construction, the blade combines exceptional cutting performance with a graceful and balanced profile. Its refined geometry embodies both precision and strength, reflecting the enduring principles of Japanese sword craftsmanship.

The blade is clay tempered, displaying a genuine Notare Wave Hamon that flows gently along the cutting edge like rolling waves beneath an evening sky. The natural undulations of the temper line create a sense of movement and vitality, showcasing the beauty that can only be achieved through traditional differential hardening techniques.

The koshirae is centered around a Brass Tsuba with Dragon and Tiger Motif. The dragon soaring through the clouds and the tiger emerging from the mountains symbolize the harmonious balance of wisdom and power, heaven and earth, and the union of strategic intellect with martial courage. The Wave Fuchi and Kashira, crafted from white copper, introduce flowing wave motifs that echo the movement of the hamon itself, adding a sense of rhythm and continuity to the mounting. A brass habaki secures the blade firmly, its warm tone complementing the surrounding fittings.

The tsuka features blue cotton ito wrapped over genuine samegawa, creating a striking contrast that evokes deep waters and clear skies while providing a comfortable and secure grip. The saya is finished in a Black Red-Speckled Lacquer, its dark surface scattered with crimson flecks that resemble glowing embers against the night, lending the sword a dramatic and distinctive presence. A black sageo completes the mounting, grounding the vivid elements of the koshirae and reinforcing the disciplined character of the overall design.

Mitsunari is not merely a display piece—it is an expression of balance, strength, and unwavering resolve. With its genuine Notare hamon, symbolic dragon and tiger tsuba, and powerful interplay of blue, black, and crimson tones, it embodies both serenity and ferocity, crafted for practitioners and collectors who appreciate traditional artistry, meaningful symbolism, and a commanding visual presence.
