Description
Performance Katana Obsidian Calm with Modern Steel Blade, Matte Black Speckled Saya and Genuine Rayskin
The Obsidian Calm is a precision-forged performance katana crafted in Maru construction using a modern steel. Designed for test cutting (Tameshigiri), Iaido training (with an unsharpened blade, by experienced practitioners), and general martial arts practice, this blade offers reliability, resilience, and smooth handling.
The blade features a clean, straight polish with a single bo-hi for weight reduction and audible feedback. It is through-hardened for consistent durability across the entire blade body, making it well-suited for repeated test cutting sessions.
The iron tsuba showcases a symmetrical openwork design, paired with matching iron fittings for a cohesive and practical aesthetic. The scabbard (saya) is finished in a textured black speckled lacquer, while the handle is wrapped in brown cotton ito over genuine samegawa, secured with double mekugi for full-tang structural integrity.
A dependable katana for modern practitioners who appreciate refined craftsmanship and controlled performance.
Swords holder or stand sold separately.
