Description
KSA “Hua” Series Katana – TideDragon | Hand-Forged Folded Steel Clay Tempered Blade | Sanbonsugi Hamon | Sashikomi Polish | Brown Ishime Saya | Genuine Rayskin | Authentic Kissaki Structure
TideDragon is a katana that brings together flowing movement and restrained power, combining traditional symbolism with disciplined craftsmanship. The blade is forged from folded high-carbon steel, constructed through repeated heating, hammer forging, and folding, creating layered grain patterns that reflect both material refinement and forging rhythm.
The blade is clay tempered, producing a bold and rhythmic Sanbonsugi hamon characterized by its repeating peaks and valleys along the edge. This structured pattern enhances visual depth while maintaining balanced cutting performance. The folded steel surface subtly reveals its layered texture under light, reinforcing the blade’s sense of movement and continuity.
The koshirae features a black mokkō-gata iron tsuba with openwork wave motifs, echoing the blade’s flowing character. The shakudō-toned white copper fuchi-kashira are finely carved with a wave-dragon relief, symbolizing controlled strength moving within natural forces. A brass habaki secures the blade firmly while providing a warm metallic contrast.
The tsuka is wrapped in brown ito over genuine black samegawa, offering a stable and confident grip with subdued visual balance. The saya is finished in a refined brown Ishime lacquer, its stone-textured surface evoking earth and water in quiet harmony. A matching brown sageo completes the mounting with cohesion and restraint.
TideDragon is defined not by excess, but by rhythm, flow, and structure. It is a katana that reflects measured force and continuous motion—well suited for practitioners and collectors who value tradition expressed through disciplined form.
