Description
KSA “Hua” Series Katana – Yukimura | Folded Steel (Damascus) Clay Tempered Blade | Real Wave Hamon | Black Ishime Saya | Genuine Rayskin | Authentic Kissaki Structure
Yukimura is a katana from the Hua Series, defined by quiet strength, disciplined simplicity, and the enduring spirit of the warrior. Forged from folded steel in traditional Maru-zukuri construction, the blade reveals a subtle jihada beneath its surface—an expression of repeated folding and careful refinement that lends the steel both depth and a naturally flowing character. The overall form remains clean and purposeful, embodying the balance between martial practicality and refined craftsmanship.
The blade is clay tempered, displaying a genuine Notare Wave Hamon that moves gracefully along the cutting edge like gentle swells upon the sea. The flowing temper line brings a sense of calm rhythm and understated elegance, while the delicate jihada created through the folded-steel construction harmonizes naturally with the hamon, together expressing the timeless beauty of traditional Japanese swordsmithing.
The koshirae is centered around a black Mokko-gata iron tsuba, its simple and organic silhouette reflecting the restrained aesthetics favored by many historical samurai. The Higo Yamamichi fuchi and kashira, crafted from white copper, draw inspiration from mountain paths and natural landscapes, introducing a quiet sense of rustic elegance and contemplative beauty to the mounting. A brass habaki secures the blade firmly, creating a subtle transition between the polished steel and the dark fittings.
The tsuka features black cotton ito wrapped over genuine samegawa, producing a timeless monochromatic appearance that emphasizes both practicality and dignity. The saya is finished in a Black Ishime lacquer, its stone-textured surface evoking the weathered character of rock and earth, lending the sword a grounded and understated presence. A brown sageo completes the mounting, introducing a gentle contrast that enhances the natural and disciplined character of the overall design.
Yukimura is not merely a display piece—it is an expression of restraint, perseverance, and refined martial spirit. With its genuine Notare hamon, traditional fittings, and harmonious combination of textured black and earthy tones, it embodies both serenity and determination, crafted for practitioners and collectors who appreciate understated elegance, meaningful craftsmanship, and the enduring essence of the samurai.
